Job Description

Key Competencies:

Experience in Large projects 250m and above. Projects include Aviation, Hospitality, Hospitals, Stadiums and Large Complex Commercial enterprises.

 

General Job Description:

Responsible for pre-construction, engineering and field installation of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Specifically relating to the mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Low- Voltage, Fire Sprinkler)

 

Providing expertise to the Business Unit or Region, including information regarding local codes and other requirements.

 

Acting as liaison and developing and maintaining relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner’s representatives.

 

Developing a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of contract documents.

 

Overseeing activities of Engineer-MEP, Superintendent-MEP and subordinates and providing performance feedback to the Project Manager.

 

Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.

 

Visiting job sites as required to troubleshoot MEP issues and suggest resolutions to problems.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years’ experience with progressively more responsible exposure to design, cost, sequence, logistics and field installations of Mechanical and Electrical systems or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Able to identify design features that command cost premiums and recommend alternatives that deliver comparable or improved function.

 

Demonstrated ability to present technical material. LEED accreditation preferred.

 

Very strong oral and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
